It also features the historic Zulu battle grounds and the wonders of the Lowveld Bush whilst on Safari.Be one of the very few motorcyclists to ever be allowed to ride your motorcycle into Kruger National Park!!

The visit to Rorke’s Drift is moving, and the experience of the Game Lodges is not to be missed. The roads are fantastic for riding and the scenery is second to none. Day 2

Straight after breakfast you will be taken to where the bikes await you. After the paperwork and bike familiarisation is completed, we will head off on the road for what promises to be an amazing and informative trip. Our destination is the beautiful Golden Gate Highlands National Park, set just above the Kingdom of Lesotho. Here you will stay in luxury cabins overlooking the mountains and, depending on the time we arrive, you may want to take a short safari ride on some of the local trails.

Day 3

After Breakfast you will head out to one of the most well-known battle grounds in South Africa. Riding some dirt roads to get to the lodge you will finally arrive at Rorke’s Drift – infamous, but delightful as an experience not to be missed. Located on the battlefields of kwaZulu-Natal, this little hamlet has seen some of the most significant moments in South Africa’s history.

The Battle of Rorke’s Drift in 1879 was part of the Anglo-Zulu war that saw the first defeat of the British Forces by an imposing Zulu Impi in the morning at Isandlwana, and a complete turnaround in the evening of the same day at Rorke’s Drift. Also during this time, the French Prince Imperial died in a skirmish and ended the Bonaparte dynasty. Today it is marked by a single cenotaph in a lonely field. At Fugitive’s Drift, another lone cenotaph raised to the honour of two men whose sole purpose was to preserve the Queen’s Colours and whose bravery was acknowledged by the award of a Victoria Cross. While here you can relax in the historic surroundings and dine at the lodge that evening.
When possible we will also pay a visit to the Shiyane school that sits alongside the Battlefield. We always get an amazing welcome here from around 400 school children.

Day 4

Leaving Rorke’s Drift after breakfast, we head east. Northern KwaZulu Natal has many splendid natural beauties, but little can compare with the superb scenery to be seen in Eswatini. After a small border crossing, we will ride to the Mlilwane Nature Reserve where you will be staying for two nights in Beehive Huts. These are traditional Swazi homes. On the second day here you can explore the local area and visit many of the local attractions such as the famous Swazi candle factory or the wood carving village. You may even get treated to a display of traditional dancing.

Day 6

Today you will do something that until recently was not allowed. You will ride north out of Eswatini and into the world famous Kruger National Park. Alex lead the first motorcycle group into Crocodile Bridge in Sept 2017. He has since secured permission to use the camp as an overnight stop on all Kudu Tours. There is an abundance of wildlife surrounding the camp and you will be treated to a late afternoon game drive with a professional game guide. Included in this experience will be a wonderful bush dining event where you will sits deep in the bush whilst watching your evening meal cooked before your eyes on and open fire. Surrounded by the sounds of the bush you may well hear Elephant, Lion, Baboon and Hyena going about their business close by to where you are dining. After dinner you will enjoy a night drive where the aim is to see the nocturnal animals of South Africa in natural surroundings. This for many really is the high light of the tour.

Day 7

After yesterday’s ride, today you will be heading north again. We will be staying Moholoholo Mountain View, in the heart of the bush – veld. We will stay here two nights, where you will be treated to a Bush Braai (weather permitting) and you will have the chance to take part in a Safari Game Drive on your motorcycle if you wish. Please note that this will be guided and you will not be permitted to ride by yourself at any time.

Day 9

After a hearty breakfast we will say goodbye to the Safari Reserve and its wildlife and head back West, exploring many local villages along the way. We’ll overnight in a hotel that was used as a hospital by British forces during the Anglo/Boer wars in the small Dutch Reform town of Dullstroom.

Day 10

After a relaxed start, we’ll take an easy ride back towards JHB via Belfast, said to be one of the last battle grounds of the Boer War. In JHB, once the bikes have been checked back in, we will transfer those who have evening flights to the airport and those who wish to stay a little longer to local accommodation.
