Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive at Cape Town International Airport where you will be collected by air-conditioned transport and transferred to the wonderfully located Luxury Guest House. Here you can relax for the rest of the day and prepare for the next 11 days on the Garden Route. All this while you soak up the wonderful views of Table Mountain and Robben Island. Alex will meet you for dinner at one of the local restaurants and the programme for the next 11 days will be discussed. We really don’t think there is a better way to start this fantastic tour.
Day 2
Transfer from your hotel to pick up the motorcycles. After a briefing about the bikes and finalising the paperwork, we are on the road via the highway and then into the mountains. Overnight in Barrydale.
Day 3/4
Leave Barrydale after breakfast and head along the famous R62 highway where you will stop off at the well known Ronnies Sex Shop and Lunch in Ladismith. Our destination is the Karoo town of Oudtshoorn. You will be staying here for two nights.This will give you the chance to join in some of the activities such as Safari drives, Lion feeding or walking with Elephants.
Day 5
You will have an early breakfast today and then head through the mountains via De Rust. Once over the mountains you will pick up the N9 to take you across the Klein Karoo (Little Desert). We will over night in the town of Graaff Reinet. A small town with a big history.
Day 6/7
After the long ride of the previous day, today is a chance to take it a little easier. We are heading to one of South Africas most popular National Parks. Addo Elephant Park. Your chalets will look out across the Game Reserve and an abundance of wildlife will pass just by your patio. The following day you can take advantage of the onsite facilities which will include Safari Drives with the NP Rangers. This safari drive is on us!!!
Day 8
Well rested, you will head South today back down towards the Indian Ocean. Our target is the Tsitsikamma Forest where we will stay in Tsitsikamma Village. Here you can explore the local area and take a canopy tour of the forest if you desire. Check out the vintage bikes and cars at Marilyns Diner.
Day 9
Riding West along the Garden Route on the N2 highway. Here the brave among the group will have the opportunity to try the World’s highest bungee jump. The rest can watch and admire the views. Our very own Tanya took the plunge here WATCH VIDEO Adrenaline rush over, you continue West on N2, taking in Nature’s Valley en route, and eventually ending up in Wilderness, a diamond in the Garden Route. Wilderness is a wonderfully-located village where there are a number of excellent places to dine. One of the favourite places to finish off an evening is Cocomo’s, which boasts live music every night. Your accommodation tonight is a little taste of luxury as we relax in the Wilderness Hotel.
Day 10
Leave the tranquillity of Wilderness behind and continue west to the Garden Route coastal town of Witsand. Amazing beaches and crashing waves,the view is spectacular. Tonight you will overnight at The Whale Watchers Inn.
Day 11
From Witsand, we ride back onto the N2 highway and then continue West to spend the last night of your road trip back in Hermanus where you can relax, do some local craft shopping, and have your final dinner with the group.
Day 12
An easy start to today. After breakfast you can take a wander around the local market, then it’s back towards Cape Town via the Coastal Road. If the group is keen, we can arrange to visit the local township named Zwelihle. This will involve riding the bikes into the location and meeting with the people who run some of the local community projects. After the visit, it’s back into Cape Town by mid/late afternoon to return the motorcycles. This is surely the best Garden Route Motorcycle Tour on the market today.
