Kudu Tour Sept 2017
To anyone viewing this website, possibly contemplating one of Alex’s tours…. DO IT!! BOOK IT!!! You will not be disappointed.
The Kudu tour was my first experience of South Africa and has surpassed my expectations on every score, I can fault nothing.
Alex and his tours are quite simply, ‘the best’.
An experience of a lifetime that I will never ever forget.
(And I’m a pillion, so you riders are gonna be even more blown away)
Thank you Alex xx

Kudu Tour August 2017
Just back from Kudu August tour. It was tremendous. My previous S A trips have been by rail and car but there is nothing at all to compare with being on two wheels and being able to access some of the most wonderful places with Alex Jackson. Swaziland was a particular highlight and surprise as it is stunningly beautiful. Alex runs a highly professional set up and takes every care to ensure you get the most out of the package he puts together. Just brilliant!
(Biddy Fisher, Yorkshire, UK)
Thanks to Alex for a unique and unforgettable experience travelling over a thousand miles on the roads and tracks of South Africa and Swaziland. The Kudu tour give a real taste of the wildlife and history of the area. My personal highlights were Rorke’s Drift Lodge, Mlilwane Nature Reserve and Mountain View especially the evening safari game drive. The tour is a good balance of road and track. If your lacking a bike licence it can be driven but I’d recommend an SUV or 4WD for a good experience. Alex’s passion for the wildlife and culture shone through and made for a brilliant experience with some great travelling companions.

Springbok Tour Nov/Dec 2016
Liz and I did the springbok tour last December. It was her first trip to South Africa (it won’t be her last!!) and in her words it was one of the best holiday’s she’s ever had!!
Alex Jackson’s passion for both motorcycles and Africa is evident in his knowledgeable and professional approach. From the handpicked diverse accommodation to the variable road surfaces and terrain, our trip was fantastic. The beauty of a guided tour like this is you get to see so much in a relatively short time and this trip was relaxed and easy with a couple of rest days to explore the local area, sit around a pool or just take in amazing scenery.
I don’t ride (sadly) as I have the balance of a giraffe on ball bearings, so hired a car and was the bag man while Liz rode, the whole experience was a great adventure and we are already planning our next trip with Kaapstad Motorcycle Tours
Thank you Alex… you’ve not see the last of us yet!!
(Phil and Liz, Brackley, UK)
This was my second tour with Kaapstad and it didn’t disappoint. This tour was certainly different to the last one, with more focus on the scenery, the coastal areas and the region. The people on the tour were wonderful and as always the tour guide was excellent.
(Matt Chamberlain, Grantham, UK)
Not like any other holiday, such diverse destinations throughout the trip. City, Coast, long Desert roads, Game reserve, and dusty Mountain passes. 12 days with a fantastic group of people who I now regard as friends.
Would definitely recommend this trip if you enjoy adventure, great scenery and culture.
(Ziska Danby, Stockton-on-Tees, UK)
Amazing amazing amazing I cannot recommend this enough to anyone. Enjoyed it so much, I’ll be booking again for next year.
Thank you Alex.
(Lee Linford, Brackley, UK)
Without exception the best tour I have been on.I had never to SA before and if you like motorcycling , fantastic scenery and out of the way places this is for you . Alex has found some amazing roads to ride ( tar and gravel ) and some unusual places to stay, all with perfect hosts. A great trip that will stay with me forever. Thanks Alex .

Kudu Tour Sept 2016
The Kudu tour is absolutely brilliant. Alex has worked out a great route, with amazing things to see and experience and wonderful places to stay. There is plenty of great, fun riding but never too much, so it is ideal for a pillion…this is a holiday and not an expedition. That said, you really feel that you have toured this amazing part of Africa, seeing sites that you will never forget. In particular, Alex’s connections and personal friendships mean that the trips to the game reserves are extra special. All-in-all the Kudu met all our expectations and much, much more. Thanks Alex, see you again!
(David and Jules Williams, Peterborough, UK)
If you want to see South Africa this is the way to do it, fantastic country, great people, I shared memories with a great group of people.
Kaapstad Motorcycle Tours the best way to see South Africa. Thank you Alex J Jackson for the memories of a lifetime.
(Alan Mcquaker – Durham, UK)
We can’t thank Alex enough for the amazing Kudu Tour. Bloody amazing mix of motorbiking in the most fantastic scenery, getting close to animals on game reserves and getting to know the real South Africa. Without Alex’s knowledge and contacts it wouldn’t have been half as good.
(Tony Martin and Helen Price – Cheltenham, UK)
We just wanted to say a big thank you for a great holiday. Having never been to SA before, we didn’t know what to expect, but it’s a lovely place to visit and we hope to go back. The scenery was lovely, food excellent and the people were really friendly and welcoming. As for the tour, it was great. The bikes you supplied were top quality and the routes were a good mix of quality road and not too daunting off road sections. The safari’s were excellent and your knowledge added that extra personal touch. It was a bit disappointing not to be able to bring the baby cheetah home, but it was a real privilege to get up so close to the animals. Don’t be surprised if we book another tour soon!
(Andy and Jane Hood – Leighton Buzzard, UK)
Kudu Tour August 2016
South Africa is a stunning country full of history, kindness and hospitality. From the first email to Alex everything was taken care of, every question was answered, every email or phone call was followed up, the service was great and it really made me feel at ease and took any worries I had away.
(Darren Young, Isle of Man UK)
Ian was always going to enjoy this tour, he’s done lots of solo tours on his bike, I was a bit less convinced as a 4 day tour of Ireland was the longest I had done but I can honestly say it was brilliant from start to finish and I’m so glad we did it. Alex has got this tour just right, he really does care that everyone has a great time and the accommodation was so varied and top quality. It’s a good mixture of bike riding, wildlife, culture and good food. We were extra lucky to meet some great friends on our tour and wouldn’t now hesitate to book another.
(Ian and Sherrie Williamson – Scarborough, UK)
Absolutely fantastic tour – loved every minute of it and didn’t want to come home. Would highly recommend this tour. Alex is so knowledgeable about South Africa and gives you so much information and takes you places you’d never find yourself. Excellent mix of riding, sightseeing etc. Totally blown away with the close up encounters with the wildlife both early morning and evening safaris were awesome! Great food, great accommodation, great people – love South Africa and can’t wait to go back again. Would definitely go with Alex again – done a few organised tours in the past but no one comes close to Alex – fantastic guide and a lovely man who cares passionately about the animals. Highly recommended.

Kudu Tour Sept 2015
This was my first motorbike tour in any foreign country. I have to say that this tour is unique and amazing. The country, scenery and people are all wonderful. I had so many first time experiences in the space of 10 days, that it is almost unbelievable. The experience is enhanced by the fact that the guide is so knowledgeable and almost like a local. This certainly proved itself when you see and do things that a normal tourist would never see and do, even some locals would not have known some of the things that Alex does. Some of the individual experiences on the trip, are so unique that I would never get the chance to have them again ever! I would happily do this tour again, as I know there would be other unique experiences to be had, and I am seriously considering another tour with Kaapstad.
(Matt Chamberlain – Hockliffe, UK)
We went on the Kaapstad Kudu tour with a bit of trepidation, Africa, wild animals and all that. Well Steve and I could not have been so wrong, it was fantastic riding the bikes from the hotel (all delivered and ready for us) and into the African countryside. The game parks we stayed in were of the highest standard and exceeded our expectations. Being able to see all the mountain sights and the animals in the wild was incredible and made all the better with Alex as guide and a wealth of information, he certainly knows his stuff and gives you every confidence. The biggest surprise was seeing the animals close up in the wild and not what we expected, all the accommodation, food and water was better than any high class hotel. The trip was so good we have booked again for next year on another of Alex and Tanya’s tours.
Pete Belfield and Steve Crossley – Manchester, UK)
A whole lot of Africa in a few days. From beautiful scenery to close up and personal animal experiences. Well organised game rides and walks in cool places. Great introduction to dirt road riding. Good help when needed. If you were thinking about a trip, go for it.
(Philip Conquest – Norwich, UK)
Namibia Private Tour
Alex was a great help in getting me going on my month trip from Cape Town to the Caprivi Strip in Northern Namibia and back, in which I clocked up over ten thousand fun kilometres! Alex travelled with me for two weeks and took my half way up Namibia to Swakopmund. Alex knowledge of the routes, interesting places to stay and contacts was invaluable. His introduction to KTM Cape Town enabled me to get the exact bike I wanted: the KTM 1190 Adv R. Alex was great company, pretty unflappable and I am grateful he showed me the ropes. His interest and knowledge about wildlife and tracking added an extra fascinating dimension to the trip. I would thoroughly recommend going on any of Alex’s tours as I know you will have a great time and be well looked after.
(Mike Appleby – Summer 2015)
Bushbuck Tour April 2015
If you’re looking for many types of riding through villages, mountain ranges and the forest you’ll do well with Kaapstad Motorcycle Adventure Tours. The pace cracks along, but still allows time for the all-important lunch and coffee breaks. Alex has found a wide range of places to stop overnight, they’re all interesting and the food is always at least good, but often brilliant. Safety is key, so there’s no pressure to break speed limits. Perhaps one of the more important aspects of the longer trips is that Alex always has a plan for the inevitable hiccups.
(Andy and Jo Harris)
Having joined Alex and a small group to ride an 8 day bespoke tour and make a video for Adventure Bike T.V. – the trip was FANTASTIC! Great stops along the way, my chance to actually ride Piggs Peak (it has been on my to do list for ages) and to top everything, Alex secured permission for us to ride through a game reserve – a very special treat and I think unique to Kaapstad Motorcycle Adventure Tours. We WILL be back for more!
(Martin Chick, Oxfordshire, UK)
Springbok Tour Feb 2015
I had the most amazing time on the Springbok tour with Alex. I’d only ever done the garden route via the national road and doing it on back roads on a mixture of gravel and tar was awesome. The passes were a complete thrill. I can’t wait to do another tour with Alex, it is heaven having everything prepared and sorted for you… all you have to do is ENJOY THE RIDE!!!!
(Leila Stotter – Cape Town, South Africa)
I much enjoyed my Springbok Tour with Alex who used his extensive local knowledge to provide a brilliant mix of tarmac and gravel riding through great scenery… I’m sure I will be back for more.
(Richard Coughlan – Bedfordshire, UK)
Kudu Tour (2) 2014
If you are looking for a rather touristy “big five” safari then there are plenty out there to choose from. However, if you want to see the real Africa and experience the close encounters that accompany riding a motorbike through a game reserve then the Kudu Tour is for you. AJ takes you off the beaten track and introduces you things that are beyond the remit of most tours. You experience a range of accommodation and eating places – some better than others, some outstanding – and visit several game reserves. But the main focus of the adventure is to ride a variety of spectacular (and in some cases very challenging) roads and visit some of the most amazing places the area has to offer. We had been thinking about doing a safari in Africa for some time but were slightly reluctant as we were worried we would be disappointed. All we can say is that the Kudu tour didn’t disappoint in the least and in fact exceeded expectations.
(Steve and Susie Gait – Grantham, UK)
Second time on a tour with Alex, this time on the Kudu tour, as a couple. The riding sometimes took us out of our comfort zone but the destinations were invariably worth it. The whole trip constituted a proper little adventure. Stunning scenery and friendly people. Highlights, for us, were the the full moon rising over the river at Rorke’s Drift Hotel, the beehive huts in Swaziland, and the magical evening bush brai at Moholoholo under the stars and the milky way. All in all, a challenging but rewarding experience.
(Mark and Malou Wesley – Bedfordshire, UK)
Booked the Kudu Tour for our 25th Wedding Anniversary as we wanted to do something different, we saw some great sites, meet some great people and had a really good time. The Monoloholo Rehabilitation Centre was great.
(Mark and Sheena – Cambridgeshire, UK)
The first day was the ever impressive Golden Gate National Park, and it just got better and better every day from there. I loved it so much I turned the bike around at 6:30am the day after the trip “ended” and went straight back to the Game Reserve for another 4 days, via some of the most spectacular riding scenery I have ever ridden. Alex’s passion for the wildlife is infectious; we need more conservation evangelists like him! The photos of the bikes with the Giraffes and Zebras in the Game Reserve speak a thousand words.
(Kevin Davis – East London, South Africa)
A really fantastic trip with a great mix of sun, tarmac, dirt roads and close encounters with wildlife. We enjoyed it immensely , and had the bonus of good company . Alex has put together and delivered a great package on this tour. Highlights for me ranged from staying in the ‘Beehive huts ‘in Swaziland ,and eating ‘Wildebeest curry’ .Wendy liked the personal achievement of completing the dirt road riding without mishap, which she felt more challenging than facing rhino on our bush walk!! The Moholoholo Rehabilitation centre was very informative … even stroked a cheetah! Highly recommend this trip.
(John and Wendy Ottaway – Oxfordshire, UK)
Kudu Tour (1) 2014
South Africa..!!! What can I say… one of the best motorcycle tours we have done so far, the riding and the stunning scenery, the people, the animals and of course the expert tour guide Alex. Thanks, we will be back.
(Mark and Carole Stone – Kent, UK)
We have had a fantastic time over the past 10 days. Alex’s itinerary was varied and always outstanding. We’ve experienced Africa in the bush, seen animals close up and completed some off road biking without major incident and all in excellent company! Thank you Alex, Nick and Saa, ‘Bird Killer’ Andy and Chris; ‘Where’s my sunglasses’ Mark and Carol; Tim and Lek, and John for a wonderful holiday!
(Chris and Julie Withers – Somerset, UK)
Bespoke Tour April 2014
Thanks for a great tour round the Garden Route! It was a great week, highlights for me were The Retreat, the coastal views, the great roads, Hermanus and the mountains. Looking forward to another but longer adventure.
(Andy Moss – Wirral, UK)
This was the first time either Georges or I had done such a bike tour and as such a very unique experience for us both. It was brilliant fun and we wouldn’t hesitate to do a similar tour again as we’re are sold on bike travel as a fantastic way to see the world! The accommodation and food was great, far better than we expected and as for the scenery!!… go see for yourself! Thanks for a trip of a lifetime.
(Chris and Georges – Devon, UK)
Overland Magazine Readers’ Tour 2014
Trip of a lifetime – showed me I can ride gravel! Sun, sea, mountains. Fantastic accommodation. A trip of some luxury, but with the chance to visit a township, feed elephants, find the (Angie’s) G Spot, and get a little under the skin of South Africa. Kaapstad as tour operator and Overland Magazine as hosts was a winning combination.
(Jenny Cook – Devon, UK)
Had an absolutely fantastic time on my adventure around the Western Cape with Alex. With the breathe taking scenery and fabulous roads who couldn’t enjoy it – added with the attention to detail and general all round knowledge of Alex as the guide the trip was faultless. The route he’d arranged and wonderful accommodation on route took all the stress out of the holiday and I was able to just relax and enjoy. Many thanks Alex, really first class and cant wait to join you again for another adventure.
(Will Dent – Norfolk Advanced Motorcyclist, UK)
The tarmac roads were great fun, the dirt roads were brilliant, the scenery stunning, the wildlife spectacular. I would recommend South Africa to any rider and of course Alex made it all run smoothly and was lovely.
(Nich and Heather Brown – Warwickshire, UK)
Day two and a nice easy ride over Chapman’s Peak along one of the greatest of coastal roads, a scenic, winding masterpiece and one of the best I’ve ridden, all the way down to the nature reserve and the Cape of Good Hope.
Paul Milner- Norfolk Advanced Motorcyclist, UK)
Bespoke Tour 2014
Just a note to say a big thank you for the fantastic job you did with regards to our trip. It is certainly a place I will return to when possible.
(Ian McCulloch – California, USA)
Having just returned from nine truly awesome days riding in South Africa with Kaapstad all I want to do is…. get back out there! The planning was meticulous, the night stops perfect and the riding was spot-on. There was no pressure put on any of the group, and the whole trip was exactly what is was meant to be – fantastic FUN, great company and brilliant riding over all terrains (tar, gravel and dirt). If you’re only going to do one trip a year – make it South Africa with Kaapstad – you will not be disappointed.
(Martin Chick – Oxfordshire, UK)
Thank you so much for a fantastic trip. Every ride, meal, hotel was great. The girls had a great time and we had the time of our lives.
(Chris Wigmore – Oxfordshire, UK)
Springbok Tour 2013
What a great trip. Utterly diverse and stunning scenery, the like of which you would find hard to beat anywhere else, and memorable places you would never find without Alex’s expertise. Contrary to media hype, South Africa is friendly and safe. Perfectly organised and thoroughly recommended.
(Brian Lowe – Essex, UK)
Springbok Tour 2012
I have been riding bikes for years and had an idea about doing something more exotic than another European tour for some time, then I met Alex Jackson at the Ton Up day and again at the Brackley Festival of Motorcycling in 2011. From this point on what had been a dream fast became an idea and then a plan and I have to say the tour lived up to everything I had hoped it would be. South Africa is an amazing country and Alex brings this to life with his knowledge of the area, roads, places of interest and an ability to meet people and make them feel at home. The tour I chose included tarmac and dirt roads which was something I was very keen on as I wanted to get off the beaten track and get closer to the countryside. The Springbok tour does exactly that and we rode some amazing tarmac and dirt roads including the Montague pass and Prince Alfreds pass to name two but I could go on for a very long time listing highlights. The key to a good tour is being able to work within a framework to tailor the route and the pace to the people taking part and this is something that Alex as tour guide is very good at doing. South Africa is full of amazing places, people and experiences, I would happily go on another tour with Alex again.
(Trevor Collier – Banbury, UK)
Springbok Tour 2011
The Springbok Tour with Kaapstad Motorcycle Adventure Tours was perfect; good people, great roads, first rate lodging, food and prudent drinking. You may feel at times like Mark Coma or Cyril Deprés but you do not have to be one of them. You tend to feel young while riding. You don’t have to be young though. It may feel like a honeymoon but you don’t have to be married. It is not funny but you will laugh all the time. Very serious riders will turn silly by the third day and it gets worse from then on. Adjusting back to routine can be challenging. Only regret: I should have more disciplined filming, photo and audio of the trip. I think everyone thought someone else was doing it.
(Gino Lofredo – Equador)
We first bumped into Alex during the summer of 2011 at Billing Aquadrome. We had talked about doing a bike tour but never for one minute thought we would be jetting off to South Africa a couple of months later. We sorted our own flights and left the rest to Alex who sorted everything else out including our flight transfers at the end of the holiday and extra accommodation in Cape Town. Alex kept in touch regularly to make sure we were happy with all our arrangements which was very reassuring. We had the most amazing time riding along coastal roads taking in the magnificent views of the mountains and beaches visiting Hermanus, Oudtshoorn, Knysna, Wilderness and Witsand. Riding the mountain passes took your breath away, stopping off at remote relaxing cafes to eat cake and chat to the local people who made you feel so welcome. Alex couldn’t have made our trip any better he was fun to be round and very knowledgeable of all the areas we visited and most of all he chose all our fabulous accommodation. The other 3 members of our group were great we couldn’t have wished for nicer people to share our experience with. Thanks to Kaapstad tours and especially Alex.
(Steve and Janice Barnes, UK)
My wife and I chose to use Kaapstad Motorcycle Adventure Tours for our honeymoon after we wandered into their stand at the NEC Motorcycle Show. Even before we had booked the guys there where very welcoming and willing to answer all of our questions, both at the show and via e-mail afterwards. What is on offer is a fantastic no hassle way to see the Garden route – just book your own flights, pack your riding kit and take some money for petrol and food and the rest is provided. Even then, Alex was more than happy to help with advice on the best places to look for flights.Even though we booked over a year in advance, Alex was in constant contact to make sure we were all sorted and was more than happy to take queries on things like insurance and riding kit. The advice was always good as well as it turns out!! Everything ran like clockwork when we arrived, from airport transfers ready and waiting for you to the excellent quality of the hire bikes. The fact that my wife and I both wanted different bikes (BMW 1200GS v 800GS) was not a problem and one of each was provided. One of the other guys on the tour was a bit short in the leg and Alex organised to have his bike lowered by the mechanic with no fuss or hassle. Accommodation throughout the tour was of an exceptional standard from start to finish, from quaint B and B’s to luxury guest houses, always clean and with a welcome that was always great at the end of a days ride. As for the riding, a good mix of main road, back road and dirt road where used so the trip never got boring by doing too much of one thing. Alex knows the route well and you are always pulling up somewhere that at first looks innocuous, but then Alex points something out which is a site you would have just missed if you didn’t know the area. There was a great group dynamic on the trip, but Alex makes it clear on day 1 that you are free to be with the group or on your own, whatever fits, and is always happy to discuss making small changes depending on the group want or for unsuspected things like weather changes. Alex felt more like a part of the group than a militant guide like you get with some other tour companies. If you ride a bike you need to see South Africa, and your first point of call should be Kaapstad Motorcycle Adventure Tours. We both want to go back and for when we do, Kaapstad’s number is on my speed dial. Thanks to Alex, Tanya and the South Africa team along with the other great guys who where booked on the tour (Steve, Janice and Gino) for a fantastic experience.
(Jay and Jaz Bacon, UK)
Self-Guided Bespoke Tour
Kaapstad Motorcycle Adventure Tours made our trip to South Africa one of the best bike trips ever! Alex is so knowledgeable of the area and recommended routes which we wouldn’t have dreamed of considering. Meeting someone who not only suggested a fantastic tour but was able to sort bike hire, meal suggestions and accommodation out too was invaluable. We particularly loved the Prince Alfred pass but were very glad to have been warned of how long we needed for it! South Africa is a safe and easy country to tour if a ‘local’ can help you plan. Thanks Alex!

Bespoke Impala Tour 2011
I first decided to contact Kaapstad Adventure Tours when I saw a poster at Jacks Hill Café (Towcester, UK) although I did recall seeing Kaapstad at the ACE Café Adventure day last year. I first spoke to Ron in the UK Office and then Alex himself and I was excited to plan a trip. My wish was to join a Group Ride but, as their dates didn’t work for me I thought I had to either do a hire and ride on my own or look elsewhere. How wrong I was! What set Kaapstad apart is that both Alex and Ron went out of their way to be helpful and helped me achieve my dream trip. They asked the dates I had available and they came up with a shorter 5 day bespoke guided tour just for me. Alex had a small window of time after his previous tour and Christmas break and before he was busy again in January and Hey Presto! I was sorted… My Trip took in Cape Town – Hermanus – Oudtshoorn – Knysna – Wilderness – Witsand – and back. The Coast roads, the stunning scenery inland too and the Mountain passes all made up a stunning ride. Alex’s business is obviously group rides but by doing a short one off guided tour for me he showed, I think, how to be really helpful to the client. I honestly thought the whole package was good value and I feel sure if a small group had asked to do such a trip it could only have been excellent value. Top Marks to Kaapstad and you may not know but Alex is an experienced Game Ranger and has been working in South Africa for a number of years (between bike tours) so if you love South Africa like I do he has got many interesting tales to tell!
(Rick Stevenson, UK)
Springbok Tour 2010
Having ridden bikes on and off road for many years I was looking for a trip / adventure for my 50th birthday so this trip seemed to tick all the right boxes. On the holiday I loved every minute. The accomodation was first class, the food was great, the people are great they just love the bikers. I have never waved at so many people before. The KTM just soaks up all you can throw at it. Tight and twisty mountain passes on tar and dirt roads were a joy to ride. The scenery is just awesome and I would do it again tomorrow if I had the chance.
(John Flack – Milton Keynes, UK)
Highlight of the year 2009… Kaapstad Motorcycle Adventure Tour!! I would thoroughly recommend this experience to anyone who has ummed & arred about whether to visit Africa. Alex did an utterly fantastic job escorting us on the KTMs’ across some stunning scenery. The whole tour was expertly organised. Alex packed plenty into the 10 days and made sure we were very comfortable in our lodgings at the end of each day. If you wish to know more about the places we visited and the awesome adventures we had, you’ll have to sign up yourself… put it on your bucket list!!!
(Wendy Hartwig – Watford, UK)
Wonderful, brilliant, amazing this is an 11 day tour in an outstanding country, beautiful scenery, friendly people and great food. There is so much to see and do in South Africa, that 11 days just cannot do it justice. That said this tour gives you a great snap shot. We saw a lot of whale cows with their calves, mountains and spectacular caves. All sorts of wildlife and habitat including what must be some of the best beaches anywhere. We stayed in wonderful guest houses all of which looked after us very well. Some we could not believe and still can’t! Alex looked out and after us and proved knowledgeably helpful and a very good host. I now love KTM’s! This is a great holiday and a really marvellous adventure that has to be done! Cape Town is great as well.
(Kevin Jeffreys, UK)
This was our holiday of a life time starting and finishing in Kaapstad and all our senses received a wow factor! We whaled watched and heard the cows calling to their calves – very eerie, rode mountain passes – very scary, climbed through caves – spectacular and walked white beaches. We saw a huge variety of wild life (ostriches and baboons my favourite) and extremes of habitation from deserts to mountains. On a motorcycle you can actually smell the garden route as well as see it!
(Sarah Jeffreys, UK)
Impala Tour 2007
These narrow dirt road passes cut through the mountains, which then lead out into the desert the other side. Riding through such beautiful scenery on the dirt roads makes this holiday quite an adventure. It’s quite unlike any other holiday I have had. At the end of a hard day’s ride, there’s always a bar with friendly faces wanting to chat.
(Rory Kaye – Hampshire, UK)
Bespoke Impala 2006
This trip was the best riding experience of my life. It was the first time I had ridden on dirt roads, the red African trails were challenging but great fun. Riding out of Cape Town with Table Mountain behind us felt special but riding along the side of the Indian Ocean was simply amazing! The Garden Route is beautiful with scenery ranging from the mountainous vista of the Cape, to the long deep wooded passes and on to the long flat grass plains. The accommodation was a mixture starting with the luxury of the Cape Town hotel, travellers lodges, where we socialised with other adventurers and guest-houses including the outstanding Lavender House complete with swimming pool and braai area. Food was part of the experience a mixture of European and African cuisine but always plentiful and fresh. Carrying our luggage on the bikes, riding on dirt roads, making new friends and eating great food…. just brilliant.
(Ian Summerfield – Bedfordshire, UK)
